A large, long garden alongside a river that had been grassed and contained some mature fruit and native trees. The main boundary opposite the river had a post and rail fence installed but was otherwise open to visitors approaching the site.

Due to its setting an informal approach was required while providing interest and seasonal colour. To draw people down into the garden and enjoy the river views a large overhanging deck with insert solar lighting was installed and an informal boarder created on the riverside.

On the opposite side a wide shrub boarder was planted to provide privacy and balance the garden. Additional specimen trees were planted within the lawn and particularly towards the bottom of the site to ‘make sense of’ the existing planting and provide additional interest.
