  The pool had been installed and a small section of deck but the scrub bank behind was steep and access from the entrance gate was awkward.

The requirement was to seamlessly extend the deck and for low maintenance planting that would look appropriate and thrive in the northern Italian climate.

The deck was extended by constructing a vertical section in the middle and second horizontal section.
When clearing the bank the access area was dug out and a wider path created.
Planting consisted of robust species grown locally within a limited colour pallet to reflect the local ‘piante rustica’. .
