This was a new build garden being left just fenced and turfed by the building contractors.

Being overlooked and with four small children the requirement was to quickly gain privacy from neighbours and to have safe and child-proof planting.

Due to the size of the garden, and need for play space, robust planting (which did not include any poisonous plants or berries) was focused on the boundaries mainly consisting of suitable, strategically placed, trees and shrubs.
